I have had one of the most exhilarating and exhausting summers of my life. I haven't seen the sun, my family or friends since June because I've been the vocal coach for the CBS TV show Rock Star: Supernova.

Every day someone brings a CD into my studio and asks me 'how did she sing that high?' or 'how does he scream like that?' I'll try to answer some of these questions by making a pretty good guess based on my experience with thousands of singers over for 30+ years.

Wouldn't it be great to get your business team together now: to have a manager step in to make contacts for you and an agent to get you some work? Unfortunately neither of these two professionals is going to be interested in working with you until you've done a lot of the work yourself.

Change is hard; no one wants to see their weaknesses. You want to feel strong and capable. On the other hand, if you are strong enough to see your weaknesses, you can fix them.

It seems that every major city in the country has auditions for a TV talent show these days. MTV, VH1, American Idol and Star Search are just a few of the shows that hold auditions.
